With so many historic and natural sites to visit and enjoy, this little island can turn you from city lover to nature lover. The Emerald Pool, and the Trafalgar Falls are indeed a must visit natural attraction when visiting Dominica. You will be captivated and intrigued by such peace and tranquillity as you delve further into the rainforests to reach your destinations. Enjoy the walk trails, and don’t miss being greeted by the different birds and wildlife you will meet along the way. The Emerald Pool has always been one of my favourite waterfalls whenever I decide to adventure. Although nothing changes, the view, and the scenery gets me every time. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Also, it would be a shame of me to not inform you of our sea adventures as we call it. How can you visit an island so untouched and not visit the black and white sand beaches all along its coastline? The sight of it alone draws you in. Imagine the hot summer sun dazzling on the blue water, and the waves calmly dashing along the shores. Anticipating a new experience in the water? Explore, and snorkel your way above volcanoes at one of the most popular tourist attractions at Champagne Reef. Experience one on one action from the volcanic activity taking place beneath the sea floor. Or you may be like me, and just want to relax and dig your feet into the sand. Well, Dominica has got you covered. It’s a country where you get best of both worlds.

A mountainous beauty which caught the eye of the production team for ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’. One of the most historic landmarks on my island, and located in the country’s second town, the town of Portsmouth is The Indian River National Park. The widest of all the rivers on island and the only river that’s accessible by rowing alongside its banks, all the way to the North of the river. I remember my first time and how scared I was, but the tour guide ensured to keep us entertained all along the way, and before you knew it, all my fears disappeared. On this tour, you will surely be intrigued by all the flora and fauna along the way, and you will leave with so much of our history. So, why not take the opportunity?

My sweet paradise may not be the biggest, or the most popular Caribbean island, but what makes her outstanding is her natural state beaming in all its glory. There’s so much to explore in The Nature Isle. This is my country, a diamond in the rough, and I am proud to call this little natural beauty, my home.

So, have you booked that ticket yet?
